about

This album of Sandman & Camo songs was recorded in 1997 by Johnny Nason at his and Andras Jones' house in Olympia, Washington, EXCEPT for "Like a Dog" which was captured a week earlier by Carl Dexter. I had a cold so my voice was a weirdly Dylan-esque for the Nason sessions, but the performances--all first takes--were great. Track 8 with the dueling harmonicas is fittingly a Bob Dylan cover. The rest are originals.

Cameron "Camo" Davi (voice, beatbox, jaw harp, harmonica) is featured on every track except for #2 & #10. Andras Jones makes a cameo during "Fonzie." The jazzy voicemail was left by the graffiti artist Damian Loverro of "The Prophet" lore: check out UNTIL THE END OF TIME (2000).

This album, originally titled "stardust," was cassette-only for two years and then disappeared. Now, in 2023, it's back by popular demand and is being re-released in CD format. You can download it here. If you want a CD, please email me at rappincowboy@gmail.com.
